Brook Landeo, LCSW

Brook is the owner of Corazon Counseling and Wellness, LLC and a mental health clinician. Brook has a Masters of Social Work degree from UW-Madison and has over a decade of experience working in the mental health field. Brook believes in creating easy access to therapy and breaking down mental health stigma. Outside of the office, Brook enjoys spending time with family, kickboxing, and caring for their alpaca farm.

Holly Jensen, EFT Practitioner

Holly has been serving Columbia County for many years through Comprehensive Community Services (CCS), a community-based mental health program. Holly is a Certified EFT Practitioner and is excited to bring this alternative healing skill to Corazon Counseling and Wellness. Emotional Freedom Technique or (EFT) is a technique that works on the mind and body at the same time to relieve stress and re-wire the brain. Holly specializes in helping people with anxiety, self-esteem, and past trauma. She is available to meet with clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays and offers self-pay sessions.

Mel Trago, LPC

Mel is a relational and humanistic counselor who enjoys working with adolescents and adults. Mel believes humans move and change through relationships, for better or worse.  Because of this, Mel believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and other supportive, growth-fostering relationships.  You can expect Mel to show up with authenticity and warmth for the experiences and challenges happening in your life. In addition, Mel likes to incorporate neuroscience, social and cultural contexts, creativity and mindfulness into sessions. Mel has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UW-Whitewater and is a current doctoral student at Viterbo University studying counselor education and supervision. Outside of sessions & school, Mel enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family, friends and her three dogs.

Geena Melone, LPC-IT

Geena is a therapist dedicated to helping individuals connect with their most authentic selves. She takes a person-centered approach to therapy, grounded in empathy, trust, and unconditional positive regard. Her goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel free to explore your emotions and experiences without fear of judgment. Geena earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. During her graduate training, she had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients through a Milwaukee-based nonprofit. She is available to meet virtually with clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays and currently accepts Medicaid insurance.

Steven Miller, APSW

Steven recently graduated from UW-Madison with a Masters of Social Work degree. He has worked in the mental health field for over a decade working as a mental health crisis worker and in other community mental health roles. His passion is shedding light on the male experience with infertility and pregnancy loss. He is available to meet virtually with clients on Fridays. He currently accepts Medicaid insurance.

Heather Fortune, MFT-IT

Heather Fortune is a marriage and family therapist who believes therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what feels most authentic. She earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College and works with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Her work is rooted in systemic therapy, which understands challenges within the broader context of relationships, family patterns, and life experiences. Drawing on body-based practices, Heather supports clients in moving beyond words alone to foster deeper connection, resilience, and lasting change. She sees clients on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Marielle School

Marielle was born and raised in The Netherlands. Movement has always been an integral part of her life. She was on her bicycle practically every day while in this country. It sparked her interest in Yoga and body work. Marielle is also an eating disorder coach and shares her lived experience with overcoming eating disorders to support people in their own healing journeys. Her mission is to hold space for people to discover themselves and to strengthen their inner guidance. She enjoys teaching others about self-love, letting go of the self-critical voice and perfectionism mindset, and instead, practicing awareness, self-care, and teaching body exercises to clients to better manage their own health.    

Missy Kirchstein, RN

Missy is a Registered Nurse (RN), Board Certified Nurse Coach (NC-BC), Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC), and Infant Massage Instructor. She has an extensive background in public health and holistic wellness. She is currently a CCS provider in Columbia, Richland and Marquette Counties. She supports individuals and teams in creating sustainable change, improving overall well-being, navigating life's transitions, and managing chronic conditions. Missy brings a compassionate, strength-based approach that empowers people to thrive, flourish, and find balance on their wellness journeys.

Irene Clark, Intern

Irene is a student intern from Butler University. She will be meeting with clients individually as well as facilitating groups. Irene will join the Corazon team in January.

Nicole Mariani, Administrative Assistant

Nicole is the welcoming face of Corazon Counseling and Wellness! She ensures a smooth and supportive experience for all clients—from their first inquiry to their final appointment. Nicole efficiently manages scheduling and administrative tasks, allowing our therapists to focus entirely on providing exceptional care. Her dedication to creating a calm and organized environment is key to Corazon Counseling’s mission of helping individuals thrive.
